From all the talk surrounding the event and this battle, I expected Illmac to be just incoherent drunk and be absolute trash. I thought the atmosphere of the event post Diz-Can ruined this way more than Illmac's condition. I mean, the third round was bad, but he was fine during the first two. No, it wasn't up to par with what he can do, but he still easily slaughtered Ars with two rounds.

Arsonal did what Arsonal does. Mediocre (at best) bars, aggressive demeanor, was a dick during Illmac's round (granted Illmac wasn't exactly respecting Ars, but he sort of had a reason to be upset). He caused problems, then acted like none of it was his fault. I have no idea what anyone sees in Arsonal.

All of Mac's rounds were trash IMO. I felt bad for him. I don't know exactly what the circumstances were but whatever the reason this battle was a big letdown. Medicore bars tho? I get people don't like him cuz of how cocky he is but dude is a beast.

Personall, I gave the first and third rounds to Arsonal, with the second round being close but possibly in Illmaculate's favor. I hate Illmaculate and the way he flows and really wanted him to lose, and he did... but that aside, Arsonal is a complete bitch for how this went down. Illmac did as well as he could, considering how drunk he was and how Ars was just being disrespectful.

The stuff aside with the battle supposedly being called off then put back on, it's cool to be the bully, but there's a way to do it, and you have to be real about it. Swave Sevah bullies his opponents, but never in a disrespectful way. His words and delivery just make people back down without ever getting in their space, unless it's meant to be funny. Ars bullied Illmac disrespectfully in a manner that nobody should applaud, but what makes me think he's a punk is when he does it and who he does it to.

vs. Conceited - Yes (in the Bay Area, neutral for both of them)
vs. Dizaster - No (in the Bay Area, more Dizaster's home than his)
vs. Hitman Holla - No (in NYC, neutral for both of them)
vs. Pat Stay - Yes (in Canada)
vs. Calicoe - No (in Detroit)
vs. T-Rex - Somewhat (in New Jersey, his home, while also trying to punk K-Shine)
vs. Illmaculate - Yes (in LA, fairly neutral for both of them)

Arsonal only talks the talk when he knows that neither his opponent nor the crowd won't do anything to him. He didn't really disrespect Conceited all that bad, but he was just doing that because he's bigger. But he was being a punk to Pat Stay and trying to get on some street shit because Pat Stay is white and it's not like the Canadians are going to bang on him for it -- no disrespect to Canada, but it's just a different crowd. He didn't really mess with T-Rex all that much, but was trying to go at K-Shine too since he was in NJ and had NJ Bloods and Crips onstage while having the hometown advantage. But with Illmac, he was going at a shorter, white emcee who wasn't going to do anything back while not really worrying about the crowd in the building and trying to be on some tough guy shit.

I'm from California, I've said this countless times on the URL forums, but all of the out-of-town rappers who claim colors will never rock that shit here because they will get checked. And Ars, the guy who against Calicoe said "If I'm Grape Street Crip in New Jersey, then I'm Grape Street Crip in Detroit," etc., did he have a stitch of purple on in LA? Absolutely not, and I wish Illmac had caught onto that and freestyled about it. Even K-Shine didn't have any red on. Anywhere else, and you will see him in purple and waving a purple bandanna, but not here. It just shows you how "real" he is, and how he knows that LA won't fuck around, at least not until he goes outside of the venue. But unfortunately, there aren't any "hood" LA-based battle rappers actively participating plus the crowds are so diverse, so out-of-towners will keep talking tough onstage.

What a terrible battle this was. You know it's bad when Ars decisively wins lol. That whole Canibis thing fucked it all up. Mac let Ars get him out of his comfort zone, especially n that 3rd, it was embarrassing to watch.

If you listen to DBD's first podcast, Lush explains what happened. Arsonal demanded to get paid BEFORE the battle. KOTD didn't, so Ars cancelled the match. Illmac was pissed and decided to get drunk. KOTD and Ars came to an agreement, and they decided that the match could go down after Can-Diz.

And Arsonal NEVER brings anything other than mediocre bars. He spits aggressively and is confident, but his bars are hot garbage. Illmac's performance wasn't great, but his bars were on point. Arsonal's most direct attack was "I won't battle my friends like you did." Other than that, it was all generic as shit. Same against Pat Stay, same against Hitman (regardless of the public build up to that battle) same against EVERYONE.

I don't get how you can hate Illmac but love Arsonal. That just seems crazy.

I never said I hate Illmac. Im a huge illmac fan, I just try to not be on the bias tip. His first round was booty as hell. Mac maybe edged the 2nd after giving it another watch but it wasn't what I thought it would be. And although I am an Arsonal fan, Im not one of these dick riders that think he never lost a battle. I don't think hes good as he thinks he is, but he's not as trash as a lot of people think IMO. But regardless thats a bitch move on his part...
