Daley vs Caustic no question because I actually like both of them and I could see it going either way. Whoever wins that match is taking that division easily, pretty sure they can both body Chedda.
Arcane vs StepEasy will be good, but I can't see anybody beating Arcane right now. His shit against Crackk was crazy. Step is good too, but a step below Arcane. And his name has easy nameflips and because of Cane's wordplay it just gives him a big advantage.
Kid Twist vs Bulletz will be interesting. I really want Twist to win, but I don't see it happening. Lack of aggression will be his downfall in this battle.
Chedda better beat Fingaz, but I could see it going either way. I don't see either one of them beating Daley or Caustic though so I don't care that much. Fingaz should have some dope lines but not enough to win.

Caustic battle is up. The West really stepped up in this round. Great second round of the GP, all of the battles were great.

Man, round 2 had some big surprises.

Uno vs Twist - this was...well...not a surprise. It would've taken either some fantastic material from Uno or a horrifying choke from Twist for UL to walk away with the W. Supposedly he ripped it against FLO (and he has two battles down in Australia that I found randomly today), so maybe he'll be coming back stronger. Twist has some great material, but he seemed like he could care less about being there. He said the crowd the dead and there wasn't any energy (which I can get) but if you wanna get back at the top of the heap, you gotta deliver some monstrous performances. The first time I watched it, I thought Uno might have edged the first round and then Twist clearly took the second and third. After watching it a second time, it was clear sweep for Twist.

Daley vs McNight - I've never liked McNight. His style always sounds the same and its always irritated me. He's had good bars here and there, but overall I've never thought much of him. He didn't do anything here to chance my opinion. Daley killed it with the bars. I didn't think that he's looked too amazing in his last few battles (24/7, Aspire, Arcane). He was good, but I don't think his performances lived up to how good his record shows (if that makes any sense). Mcnight had some good moments, and the push was a pretty bullshit move from Daley, but by that point in the battle, there was nothing Mcnight could do. I think a foul system (or at least a punishment system) needs to get put into place. It don't matter if your a little wasted, don't put hands on the guy, you should expect him to say mean shit and get in your face a bit. Daley 3-0.

Tricky P vs StepEasy - This was pretty much what I expected it to be. After seeing how Tricky did against Charron, as much as I didn't want him to fall back into his "old habits," I kind of thought he would. Step has the bars, but there is just something about him that I can't fully get behind. I get it, you wanna spit BARS and you don't want them to go over the crowds head. That's fine, do your best to do that, but try not to look like such a goon about it. Step always looks like he just hates everyone watching the battle. He seems to lack a "real" personality. He just seems like a guy playing the character of a "battle rapper." (if that makes any sense). With all that said, he came with all business. The "t-rex" scheme was crazy. If Tricky spit flawless rounds and got all of his material out there, it could've been a different outcome, but i think Step took all three rounds.

Aftershock vs Fingaz - This was one of the top battles of the 2nd round. I think it was the best, most even battle so far. Both dudes brought it. Shocks took the first. I think the second was close. Fingaz got the third. The crowd was pretty obviously favoring Fingaz. This was one of those battles that, regardless of which way it went, I couldn't have been upset or debated the outcome. Both dudes killed it. Fingaz needs to stay at the level of quality he's been turning in.

Lucianno Crack vs Arcane - It was one sided. Arcane smashed him. Crack's bars aren't that hard or complicated. He puts on good performances, and he has the occasional really good bar, but (not to mention that the SONS style is just played out to me) his bars are just kind of "eh." I was supporting Cane all through the first GP and, if he keeps this level of dominance up, he's gonna be nearly impossible to beat.

Edwords vs Chedda Cheese - This was a really good battle. When Ed is on point, he kills it. I think he was a bit more direct and his material was overall better, but the stumbles really hurt him, took a lot of the wind out his sails and killed ant momentum he tried to build. The hangman flip was crazy and the "C:" bar was disgustingly slept on. Chedda was at the top of his game. He really needed to make up for the mediocre stuff at WD2 and he did. I do think that if Edwords didn't have the stumbles, he should've taken it. Each round was really close, but the stumbles gave Chadda a clear edge, something you NEVER wanna give to Chedda.

Charron vs 100 Bulletz - I had no idea how this one was gonna go. Charron did what Charron does. I thought his performance and material here was pretty much on par with everything else he's been doing. I don't think he's a great writer, but he can go on and on forever at a consistent level. Bulletz ratcheted his performance up a notch (and if the Family Matters flip wasn't pre-written, it might've been the greatest flip ever). I thought it was a close battle and the first two rounds could be debated, but Bulletz was just obviously hungrier. He earned the win. I think Charron would benefit from taking some time off from battling and just kinda chill. He's going down the same path Diz did, traveling overseas, taking random battles, doing unnecessary unlimited battles. I can't imagine he'll turn down battling at WD3, but I think if he becomes more selective with his battles and shortens his shit to keep it more focused, he'd be a lot better.

Caustic vs New'l - Ever since the Rone battle, whenever Caustic battles in Cali, he just acts like a huge tool during the battle. I get that it's battle rap and you gotta be thick skinned, but the "that's one" bullshit is just irritating. Be aggressive and hard hitting, but take it down a notch. He's still one of my favorites battlers and he (almost) always comes prepped with great bars. New'l has become of my new favorites. As long as he keeps improving, he's gonna be killing top ranked dudes soon. New'l seemed a bit uncomfortable, but the group (I won't even call it a crowd) wasn't showing him much love. I'm not sure about WHY the battle had to go down in Cali, or if any other battles took place at this time, but everyone was clearly favoring Caustic. I really wish the rest of New'l's third was here, because the third was the deciding round. Caustic took the first (the Pnut line had me rolling) with some bodybag jokes but I thought New'l edged the second. Caustic's third was good and I can't see anything in New'l's third putting up too hard a fight, but it still would've been nice to have (not hating or anything, just saying.)

I hope to see EdWords and New'l get some matchups at WD3. Get those cats on the big stage and see if they can really shine. The Calgary division is churning out some great talent, but the atmosphere of the events is so much more "local" than the TO events (again, no idea if that makes any sense to anyone but me).

Have Luciano and Big Mac battle for biggest ego possessed by a mediocre battler.

The 3rd Round of the GP is shaping up to be pretty crazy:

Caustic vs Daley - I imagine this one is gonna get a bit heated. Especially if Daley is a little drunk again. The last two dope opponents Daley had (24 and Cane) failed to really bring the best out of Daley. Caustic is gonna show up and go for the throat, but I can't imagine him getting too creative with the angles to use. Caustic also has to overcome the crowd (which has always favored Daley). As much as I like Caustic, I think Daley (as long as he is on his A game) can edge it out.

100 Bulletz vs Kid Twist - This is definitely the dark horse matchup of the round. It could be great, but I can see it being mediocre. Everyone expects Twist to dominate, but his last two performances (regardless of his bars being on point) have been lackluster. 100 Bulletz has stepped his overall game up and who knows what angles/bars he'll be coming with. i think Twist'll take it.

StepEasy vs Arcane - Bars vs bars. This is my pick for best battle of the round. My money is on Arcane to take the whole damn thing. For me Cane just has more in ring personality and is more well rounded. Step is gonna come out swinging, but if he turns in the same type of performance he's given so far (clean, yet seemingly uninterested) I'm not gonna be too interested in his shit. As long as Cane stays at his current level of prep and performance, I can't imagine the battle being "too" close. I foresee good rounds from Step with slightly better one from Cane.

Fingaz vs Chedda Cheese - This one, I think, will be a game of who wants it more. Chedda is great, but Fingaz has been coming with fire the last two battles. Fingaz's last two were close, though, but I think Chedda could've lost more clearly (had Ed not stumbled so much...I don't know if any of that makes any sense to anyone but me). I imagine the first one to slip up or stumble or do anything slightly wrong is gonna be the one to lose this one. I think this'll be the most even battle of the round, but my money is on Fingaz to squeak another W out.

So far, Round 1 was solid, Round 2 was great and Round 3 is shaping up to produce some fireworks.
