Female Fans Of Battle Rap--Honest Opinions Please

I am a huge fan of battle rap (Check out my SYTYCJ Submissions under Tasha 'Baby T' Allen).

I love the energy, the tension, the bars, and everything else that goes along with it.
Often times, people are surprised i watch battle rap and they say "females shouldn't watch it, you have no say, your opinion doesn't matter, blah blah blah..."

So my questions is, how do you fell about females watching/having an opinion on battle rap?

Given that i don't live in a cave, i don't see what's wrong with woman watching or having an opinion on rap battles, or anything else for that matter. A well made point or opinion doesn't have a gender.

I have a friend who I just got her into watching battles more(she likes Rone and Soul) and she doesn't know much pertaining to the history with certain battlers but she knows good lines when she hears them.

My girl didn't like hip hop that much before me, but battling is what got her into it. Simply because it's more to do with sport than music.

I don't care who watches or participates as long as they're good.

Anybody who told you not to watch battle rap is mind-bogglingly backwards and twisted. Simple enough. No craft need be gender specific.

obviously women shouldn't have a say.. what, are we respecting women now?
    only kidding of course..
they can come state their opinion right after doing all the housework
    again, only kidding..
we are all even! i've actually seen a whole lot of females that know a shit load about kotd, and even if they don't i don't think we can say they shouldn't be apart of kotd.. there are loads of stupid guys involved anyway..

Most of my friends aren't really into battling to the point that I am, but of those who have expressed interest in it, a significant percentage are female. They get the lines and appreciate the battles, and though i have to put up with the occasional "Fresco is so hawt" conversation, at the end of the day I think that it's really positive that they're slowly becoming involved with the scene and really don't see any real relevance their gender has in regards to their capacity to appreciate battling.

My girlfriend is willing to sit through 20-30 minute battles, so I know she appreciates it. I hear her react to more and more lines as she gets the references.

She still doesn't agree with me regarding there being NO holds barred in a battle, but she gets the rest. We fundamentally disagree on Pat Stay, though. She thinks he crosses the line way too often, I don't think there is one.

Though, she doesn't think Twist's Asian jokes were over the line. "Being Asian, I've heard that shit growing up, both seriously and humourously, so it doesn't bother me."

I don't act surprised when chicks catch bars and shit. There's no reason they shouldn't. Lots of men don't catch shit, as proven in every 24/7 battle ever.

It's all Soul Khan's fault. He is the reason many people love battles.

Dumb and Twist as well haha. Everyone I've gotten into battling I've done through A) Twist and Fresco B) Dumb and Tantrum or C) Soul Khan vs. Anyone Else.
