KOTD PRESENTS: BLACKOUT 3 - PAT STAY VS MATH HOFFA

    @KingOfTheDot - @PatStay vs @MathHoffa
    Hosted By: @OrganikHipHop, @Drake, @MaestroFreshWes, @GullyTK, @LushOne & @RexKOTD

Hailing from Nova Scotia, Pat Stay has earned his placement as one of King of the Dot’s top battlers. As one of the self proclaimed progenitors of the written battling era, Pat got his start in the Element’s League, tearing through competion with ease, proving he was one of the best around. With the inception of King of the Dot, written battles became much more popularized throughout Canada, allowing for many more participants than before. Seeing his chance to expand his fan base and showcase his abilities, Pat Stay got back into the ring against his first KOTD opponent, Bartone. Riding the success of his first battle, Pat has since gained the clout to command much bigger names, often taking on some of the best from other leagues, such as The Saurus, Arsonal, Head Ice and Marvwon. One of his best known battles, against long time friend Hollohan, catapulted Pat into the spotlight, showing he was able to hang with the best and was not to be trifled with. Making another Blackout appearance, Pat takes on American Math Hoffa in what was one of the best battles of the event.
When discussing the New York City battle scene, if Math Hoffa isn’t the first name to be mentioned, he isn’t far behind it. One of the most iconic figures in the circuit today, Math has been around since the Smack DVD era, and came out of the gates swinging. With early on camera battles against legends such as Iron Solomon, Nems, and T-Rex, Math began his battle career going against some of the best in the world. Since then, Hoffa has been on a war path, squaring off against the likes of Aye Verb, Arsonal, and Marvwon. A veritable giant in the scene, the Brooklyn native has been in the ring with the best, and more often than not, emerges victorious from his bouts. Known for his intimidating stage presence, commanding delivery and deadly ability to break down his opponents with hard hitting punchlines and bars, Math has proven time and time again that he is no slouch. Making his first trip north of the border to battle in King of the Dot, Math Hoffa takes on arguably the best that Canada has to offer in Pat Stay.

Pats first was my favorite of the battle. I think Math took the first. I didn't think eithers second were their dopest. And I think Pat won. I thought barswise it was an okay battle but personality wise made it a very good battle.

      Other thoughts.

Pat Stay is canadas champ and deservingly so. Battling in canada is too compfy for pat to the point where i think pat in canada is battle raps biggest advantage. and for the love of god i'm not hating on pat...pat's DOPE anywhere...but i think it makes it more difficult on his opponents to be honest especially when their american. pat is a huge name...every league is interested in him...i'd like to see him go somewhere out of canada where he cant give a guy a wet willie or fake handshake or whatever he did....

pat's ending would've been 10 times better had he been locked in on math instead of looking off to the side.

I felt Pat won, whatever, underwhelming but it wasn't bad or anything. But honestly, we have a tendency to judge leagues by the quality of battles, to some extent this is somewhat unfair. The battlers are to get the credit or blame for battle quality. This leads me to my actual point. The video quality, and everything surrounding their production on these past few battles has been absolutely incredible. I don't think things like this add views per se, but it really makes the vids look better. I'm not going to see something stupid like "things like this make you the best", I feel that title is still earned by putting together big cards, but yeah it's a really nice bonus and part of what makes KOTD a really good battle league

Crazy battle. Not quite classic status, but as close as it gets.

Like it's been said, Pat's first was the best round of the battle, but, in terms of a battle, Pat lost that round. Pat killed the first with style and bars, Math killed the first with a unique angle and direct attacks. 10-9 Math. Super close round though, both guys murdered it.

I really liked Pat's second. Math was a little off that one, but he still had some good stuff. Pat was just more entertaining/consistent. 10-9 Pat. Another close round, but Pat clearly edges it.

Pat's third was all over the place, and I think it hurt him here in terms of "winning" the battle. He had some great stuff, but without any kind of real focus, nothing connected as well as it could've. Math was a bit the same, but less so. Being more direct edges the round to Math. 10-9 Math

I've gotta watch it back to get a better feel, because all the rounds were real close, but that's how I saw it after one watch through.

Battle was great, both dudes killed it. Sort of along the lines of the Pat/Marv battle. Pat was more entertaining, but Math was more direct. Like with ICE, the tone of the battle felt more playful and fun than anything. Everyone expected this to be a hard, tense battle, but it wasn't at all. Really enjoyable. A lot of replay value.

Is this actually TonyD? If so good look outs posting on KOTD. Goodluck in your battle with REALDEAL as well,
wouldn't mind seeing you out here again after that.

ANYWAYS, I REALLY feel Pat took round 1,
it took Math at-least a minute of build up before he got a proper hay-maker out,
and that's keeping Pat's home-field advantage in mind.
