    Even as battling continues to evolve into a strictly acapella art, King of the Dot is adamant about maintaining the pure hip hop elements that once encompassed the culture. The beatbox battle is one of those elements. Scott Jackson, one of the world’s most highly regarded beatboxers, has been holding it down for KOTD for ages. When he isn’t taking to the ring to battle fellow beatboxers such as KRNFX, Exzam and Ominous, he’s MCing events, using his vocal dexterity to fill the gaps between contests, and turning the heads of an entire nation with his finals run on the TV show Canada’s Got Talent. Beatboxing is beginning to garner the attention of a community who long considered it a sideshow, and Scott Jackson is a major part of that turn.
    His opponent at World Domination 3 is Mahyar Samadi, an unknown in KOTD circles but a seasoned veteran of the European beatbox circuit. The Swedish beatboxer will be representing the Basementality battle league at the event, where he has been showcasing his skills for the past year. Footage of Samadi doing his thing is difficult to find, but his experience and reputation in competitions and showcases across Europe makes him a strong contender against Canada’s beatbox champ. Will Samadi be able to sway the crowd through the underdog effect? Or will Jackson overpower him on his way up the KOTD ladder?
