KOTD PRESENTS: 2012 GRAND PRIX ROUND 3 - KID TWIST vs 100 BULLETZ

For most people, when thinking about Canadian battling, Kid Twist is one of the first to come to mind. After representing his country in both Scribble Jam and the World Rap Championships, Twist was the first to hold the King of the Dot title chain, proving that in his case, looks could be quite deceiving. Despite admitting and maintaining a “nerd” image, the Toronto battle emcee utilizes a superb freestyle ability, along with his unique delivery and impressive writing, in breaking down his opponents. During the course of his battle tenure, Kid Twist has crossed paths with multiple legends in the game, including Dumbfoundead, Eurgh, 360, and The Saurus. Kid Twist is back in this years 1 on 1 Grand Prix facing 100 Bulletz, with both looking to advance one step closer to the $5000 grand prize.

100 Bulletz is a name that not as many people involved in battling know, but the Canadian battler is looking to soon change that. As an up and comer in King of the Dot, Bulletz has fought his way from the Ground Zero league to the KOTD mainstage, with win after win showing that he is not going to be ignored much longer. With arguably the hardest road in the Grand Prix so far, 100 Bulletz has had to face both Dose and Charron, and was the underdog in both matchups so far. Bringing with him an aggressive delivery and a proclivity for creative rhyme schemes, Bulletz is on a tear through this years 1 on 1 Grand Prix and has no plans to stop anytime soon. Clashing in the third round with Kid Twist, 100 Bulletz faces his toughest competition yet on his way to earning a title shot.

"According to the Knamelis 2.0 judging system, you got ate/8 every round"

This is about to be a body bag. I'm like 20 seconds into the first round and Bulletz has not wasted a SINGLE BAR. Oh my god.

      It was a great battle.

Bulletz took every round, I don't really see how people can debate it. He really does improve with every battle. If he could just not make that dumbass face after he spits his bars, he's gonna be real tough to stop. I can't wait to see what he comes with next round. I wish he could've gotta a WD battle.

Twist's last two performances (against Knamelis and Uno) weren't great, but his bars were on point for both. His performance here was obviously better, but his bars took a bit of a dip in quality, I thought. He did well, but he's capable of doing a lot better. Not trying to take anything away from anyone, just saying. I got a feeling that Twist is gonna go nuts in the Nils battle.

And I really don't understand why KOTD keeps putting out vids that spoil upcoming battles. I mean, this event was a free stream, but not everyone (like me) was able to catch it. It really isn't that big a deal, I guess, but this is the second time that a GP battle has been spoiled.

If you don't mind having a few movies spoiled, though, go HERE...in fact, just go there anyway...you know, just to be nice or whatever...

Yeah them spoiling the video is stupid. You would think that they would either edit out the part where they say who won the next match or upload THAT much earlier so it's not a surprise. I guess it doesn't matter TOO much becausewe watch battles for the performance more so than the outcome but still, I want to be surprise.

Damn, I have never seen Twist get served like that since he and Rich battled Bender and Pesci. Bulletz is something to look out for, I can tell the battle between him and Arcane is gonna be a straight-up dog fight. All seriousness, I'd like to see 100Bulletz vs. Dizaster...DON'T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT, RICH DOESN'T STAND A CHANCE!

fucking kidding me? thats a round 1!
Closest I've seen in time but I would go with Twist, even though Bulletz breakdowns were intense. Twist had a good rebuttle/round.
Second I would give to Bulletz. Third as well. Kid Twist was trying HARD in ROUND 1, but he didn't show as much passion as Bulletz in the long run. When Kid Twist was being real animated, and continued his flow without the pauses he was killing it, I was surprised.

WOW! What a battle! Every single verse was dope by each guy in my opinion. I'm not even going to lie...I though Twist was going to win the whole thing...but Bulletz straight up took that battle. First round was basically a tie. They both went so hard on every single line with zero fillers that there's no real point in calling it. 2nd round I edged to Bulletz JUST because Twists rubutal was a little slow starting and to me not his best...that's how close it was. 3rd round decided it. Bulletz. And it wasn't even because Twists 3rd wasn't dope...but Bulletz completely sucked the energy out of the place. People always think going 2nd is an advantage because it's the last thing you hear but in this case that theory would have back fired. I mean damn...I've always liked Bulletz...I knew about him as "The MMA Analyst" before he even battled...but this victory/performance just put him to a whole new level. Beating a Legend (who didn't beat himself or just have a bad performance) pretty handily takes him from an up-an-comer to time for heavy opponents every time. Props to Bulletz. One of my favorite battles in a long time.

Keeping this short and sweet, the win was evident by far. I been trying to watch alot more of Bulletz, and his improvement is impossible to not notice. His wordplay was ridiculous, he gave a rebutle each chance he got and almost no gun talk was mentioned. Kid used way too many race jokes and he was the one who gave the definition of racism or some bullshit in his intro. FAIL. Also, majority of Twist's bars were too predicted which proves they were not intelligent or creative in any way, as usual. Bulletz deserved this by far from the gate. All of Bulletz's rounds were flawless. Finals let's goooo.

just a quick point....I'd bet money every single one of Bulletz flips were pre-written. Battlers do that all the time and Bulletz flips were SO general. I mean...Bulletz KNEW there was going to be a bar about his weight so he through in a general flip...and if for some reason Twist didn't use ANY weight bars than he'd just toss it...but I GAURANTEE those were pre-planned...too general not to be.

I can see where you're coming from with that point, but even so, without those flips it still would have been a body easy. I just have never been surprised or "in awe" with anything from Twist. I understand you mentioning how general 100B's flips were, they just worked so well considering his opponent so they sounded that much better, pre-written or not. But you can almost debate that pre-written flips work against your opponent more in a way then they work for your own benefit, it's just proving how dull your opponent's style is. Bulletz did so much right in this battle that I can't take anything away from him.

Well there are some things that are going to be mentioned. Like if Hollow da Don battle dumbfoundead...there's going to be asian jokes...that's just the nature of battling. But yeah...I def think Bulletz won it regardless...the "flips" were still good lines i just didn't give him extra points for being off the top because they just didn't seem like it to me. Twist came hard too...but Bulletz just took all the energy out of the room after his 3rd. Dope performance for sure.

That was a good battle. I think Bulletz will still have to up it though if he wants to beat Arcane. As Bulletz is progressive he could maybe work on using various tones in his bars. He done well though. I've watched him a couple of times and i'm not that surprised.
