King Of The Dot Presents World Domination 3 - Global Supremacy

50 Battlers from 7 different countries converge in Toronto for the year’s premiere international battle rap event.
TORONTO - July 5th, 2012 - Each summer for the last two years, the best battlers in the world have gathered in Toronto to compete for bragging rights at King Of The Dot’s signature battling event, World Domination. On August 10-12, at Club XS, World Domination 3 continues the tradition, with a battling card featuring some of the best rappers from Canada, USA, Philippines, Australia, England, Norway and Sweden.
Over the last year, battle rap has seen its stature in popular culture grow, thanks in large part to Canada-based battle league King Of The Dot’s ability to bring positive media coverage and mainstream artists into the fold of the burgeoning subculture. Since World Domination 2, events have been co-hosted by the likes of Drake and Raekwon (of the Wu-Tang Clan) and the size and stature of live battle rap has grown, recently reaching new heights with the most widely-publicized event in modern battle rap history, which pitted rap icon Canibus against one of battle rap’s most prominent stars, Dizaster.

At World Domination 3, King Of The Dot continues its mission to further the cause of hip hop worldwide by matching up successful recording artists and the elite of the battle rap world. One headline match features Mad Child, from the four-time Juno Award winning, platinum-selling Canadian hip hop group Swollen Members against platinum-selling Australian recording artist 360.
“Our goal is to bring together the world of hip hop and match them up ,” says Avi Rex, COO and Co-Owner, “there are incredible battlers from all over the world and all at different points in their career, we want to give them the platform to show their skills. Whether it’s an established, platinum-selling artist or a somebody relatively unknown outside their country, it does not matter once you get in the ring and start battling. You put your skills to the test and either you win the crowd or you don’t. That’s what makes this event so exciting.”
In addition to the live event, which last year saw an attendance of over 2,000 people, the battles will be streamed on King Of The Dot’s Ustream channel, www.ustream.tv/kingofthedot.
KOTD is expecting thousands of people to be watching the Ustream from all around the world.
