War: A consequence of our natural tendency to dominate. A physical manifestation of our innate desire to crush the competition. An evolutionary examination intended to single out “The Best”. On June 9th 2012 war will be waged and history will be made.

In the Hip-Hop world, battling is perceived to be the rawest form of the culture; after all, it is one of the foundations on which the art was formed. Two rappers go head to head with each other and come up with their best insults, while flexing their lyrical, rhythmic, and artistic muscles in an attempt to discredit the artist opposing them. Over the years, battling has moved away from the streets into the mainstream; moving to larger venues with larger crowds packed around the "ring" to see their favorite artists perform. The atmosphere at these larger venues is similar to that of MMA matches: the crowd reacts and feeds off the hard hitting punch lines, as laughter ricochets off the walls when the crowd roars with approval after a joke is used to embarrass a participating emcee. The larger venues have also helped expand the popularity of battling, as it is not strictly an underground event anymore. With the rising popularity of Youtube (KOTD now has over 60,000 subscribers that have generated over 22 million total views) and online Pay Per View outlets, battling has grown into a sizable and prospering entity, with organized events run by sponsored leagues all over the world.

"King of the Dot" is one of the most recognizable leagues in the entire world. It's creator and President Organik, along with his partner and current CEO Avi Rex, has lead the Toronto based organization from obscurity into an internationally acclaimed force that has seen artists from over a half dozen countries – ranging from Norway, to the UK to Australia – compete under its banner. Using a written a cappella format, the league received some of its biggest endorsement in November of 2011 and Jan 2012, as Drake co-hosted a battle between bitter rivals DNA and Dizaster, and Reakwon hosted a battle between Hollohan and Cortez. Now, King of the Dot is set to have one of the most accomplished battle artists in the world grace its stage: Canibus.

Canibus and battling go hand in hand! He is best known for his feud with LL Cool J that began in 1997 and reached its zenith when Canibus released the song "Second Round K.O." Fittingly, former heavyweight champion boxer of the world Mike Tyson appeared in the video for Canibus’ “Second Round K.O.” Canibus and Tyson both possess a brute earnestness and world-weary sincerity, and the expansive gap between their “rise” and “fall” has allowed each to be truly honest in regards to their statuses as individuals and celebrities. Tyson once said of Canibus to the New York Times: “He’s so intelligent, that’s the reason I like him. He’s fresh, he’s new, and his delivery is perfect. He never makes mistakes.”

Presented by King of the Dot Entertainment, Dizaster and Canibus are set to battle on June 9th 2012 in Los Angeles. This will be the first time Canibus has taken to the stage for a one-on-one battle; while Dizaster, who has flown all over the world performing and perfecting his craft, is one of the most well-respected battle emcees of his respective era. These men will have three rounds (with no time limits) to claim and demonstrate their superiority, while exhibiting the skills that made them legends in their fields.

The outcome of this epic battle is anyone’s guess, but one thing is for certain: on June 9th 2012, fans worldwide will be tuning in to KOTD's Ustream page (http://www.ustream.tv/kingofthedot) to witness a very historic event in Hip-Hop!

Leading up to the event on June 9th, I will have Canibus, Dizaster, Illmaculate & Arsonal available for press to discuss their upcoming battles.

Right?! How's he gonna give Diz all this hype over crowd control and then say he beat D.N.A.? D.N.A. had him and the crowd on a string.

Look, you guys can think whatever you like, that's why these are called opinions. You guys don't really like Diz so I don't expect you to agree or care if you do, it's fine. DNA had crowd control after Diz fell for the stupid set up, other than that Diz had 1st Rd on lock and after it was even. And I didn't put emphasis on crowd control but it's a big part of battling. Boxing & battling doesn't even make sense lol. Boxing of you get knocked the fuck out, you knocked the fuck out, plain & simple. Those are two totally different competitions. Also I'm not talkin about who is a better lyricist or rapper. Of course Bender, Pesci raps better but I'm not talkin about that not does that matter n a battle. I recently watched Franco vs JPro. I fucks with Franco, one of my favs from back n the day. He spazzed da fuck out and out rapped JPro but did he win the battle? No! JPro was aggressive, spazzed and attacked the opponent and had very high energy, freestyle, the whol deal.
But yeah, I'm not knocking no ones taste but we obviously have very different taste especially with HFK and Reverse Live shoul have won, smh. So we are not goin to agree (which is cooh). Bottom line is Diz put in work in this battle scene and deserves the battle. Plus Canibus called him out, not anyone else so Diz is doing something right. Just let the dude get his rap on. It's going to be other amazing battles at the event anyway.

Umad? lol I will say Im a fan of Diz until Im blue in the face but Im not going to dick ride when I agree with what everyone says. He got BEAT by DNA. That 'stupid' setup bodied him. All the way back when he called Organik a Canadian faggot.

And to go down your list, which I agree he has put in work by battling these guys, the arent all wins or very convincing ones.

      DNA - Diz Lost
      Swave - Diz Won
Surgeron General - Forgot about it and dont care
QP - Promo, dont care about it
      TheSaurus - Diz Won
      Reverse Live - Toss Up
      Organik - Diz won
      HFK - HFK Edged it
      AClass - Diz edged it
      SmP - Got Beat
      NoCanDo - Toss up/Promo

      Ones you dont mention
Lock - Lol well... you know
      PH - Loses
      Sensa - Gets killed
      Bowers - Gets Killed
      Truth - Toss up

You say he can freestyle but look what happened at Paid Dues vs Storm and Real Deal

You says he goes all over putting in work but loses when he does? Diz is a monster, but what do you remember people by who are great? Most of the time the end of their career, and with losing to Bowers, DNA, and SMP recently, thats not good enough for me. Even if Illmac ended Can's life, I'd take it over Diz at the moment.

I think he lost to Nocan and Saurus.

The latter was when they had those shitty warnings for using "offensive" shit, if I recall.

no way smp won. you can argue he used only fat jokes but they were definately orginal in the 1st and 3rd round at least. I remember the 2nd not being great but smp used all bars we've heard used against diz before. Comparing him to natural disasters, making fun of his eyebrows, living with his parents, not to mention the line that shits apparent/ a parent like your roommate was complete bite off benders like natural birth thats becoming painfully apparent.

Both times against SMP and HFK, they both called him out about free styling and running out of breathe and not saying anything. SMP and HFK won 2-1. I haven't watched it in awhile to back anything up but I know that SMP won 2-1. Diz didnt say anything that great either.

I agree. Diz lost to SMP. When i first watched that battle, I was disgusted that KOTD judges gave it to Diz. I expect more from those fuckers. I've seen Diz win a few battles he should have lost, I don't think HFK was one of 'em, though. But, SMP was slept on. He ripped Diz a new one IMO. There is a heavy Diz bias in battle rap, but its tolerable b/c he is one of the best. However, you can't give a guy a win when he did not win.

That said, Diz just lit Canibus up! most one sided beatdown since the Boer War.
