The last release from Blackout 2 features Fingaz, originally from Toronto but living in Calgary, going up against Guelph's own Step Easy. Fingaz is back in Toronto after beating Young Stitch on his last trip to the Dot. Step Easy is looking to put on another solid performance. Who will take this one?
My first feeling is to call a slight robbery, but I really need to watch it again.
Step always puts on a good performance, but his bars range a lot for me. I think his material here was a little too played out for material against Fingaz. Solid wordplay is great, but if Fingaz doesn't stateboard, it isn't really relevant.
3rd round to Step, because even if the choke didn't happen, Fingaz didn't seem to have too much ammo left.
I think an argument can be made for Fingaz edging the first two, but an equal argument can be made for Step edging the first round.
I don't think the battle deserved a 5-0 decision.
It was a really good battle. I need to go back later and check it out to see how I feel.
Step got that 2-1. I think thats a solid decision all the way around. 3rd(ave) round was all Step's. Fingaz edged the 2nd. But I will admit, the first was close but Step won it.
His 3rd against emcbill is bodybag. I cant wait for it.
2-1 Step easy.
gave the first to Fingaz, and the other 2 to Step. I hate to see chokes or fumbles in general but it seems that Fingaz is fumbling alot latley but im a fan of him so i hope see more rounds like the first.

I feel you, 200%.
Before I watched the battle, I saw those two pictures of Step and Fingaz. I was like "wow, Step looks corny as shit. Fingaz looks like a real emcee."
THEN I saw the battle.... and Fingaz's fingers.
Fingaz's best was his last, but that wasn't enough to go against Step's first and second. In the third, he did kinda run outta amo. Here's how I counted good lines for every round:
Step - VIII (8) - X (10) - III (3)
Fingaz - III (3) - IIII (4) - V (5, with a slip-up)
Mathematically, and unanimously, Step won. Was it a body bag? No, but there were some scabs and scrapes.
Tough battle to judge. I've seen it twice and I think Fingaz edged out the first two and decisvely lost the third. Gun to my head, I think I'd give it to Step even though I think he lost two of the three rounds.
