Coming out of upstate New York, Syracuse’s own Real Talk is an emcee who should be on everyone’s radar. Making his first appearance two years ago, the relative newcomer has established himself as a legitimate threat to those who might be foolish enough to underestimate him. Having earned his stripes in the Grind Time era, Real Talk has already been in the ring with the likes of Uno Lavoz, D’Meitz, and fellow Syracuse native Dirt. Known for his ability to combine intricate punchlines with heavy hitting bars, his presence and improving delivery assist in rounding out his battle rhymes. Making his long awaited King of the Dot debut, Real Talk takes on Canadian emcee CL in this release from Flatline 2.
Continuing to make his name known in Canadian battle circles, CL may be a new name to some, but is as vicious as most veterans in the league. Hailing from Montreal, CL began his grind in the battle world recently, accepting his first battle two years ago. Earning himself better and better competition every battle, CL put on his best performance to date at last year’s World Domination 2 event against D’Meitz, showcasing his impressive freestyle skills. Having also faced off against emcees such as 100 Bulletz, Q Shinobi, and Tycoon Tax, CL is putting in his work in order to perfect his craft. Aggression, complex schemes and an energetic performance help make his battles entertaining while simultaneously dismantling his opponents. Accepting a battle with American Real Talk, who will come out on top in this Flatline 2 battle?
Coming off of an impressive showing at World Domination 3, Sonny Bamboo is stepping back into the ring. Showing he can hang with some of the best in his Osa battle, the Atlanta emcee is beginning to battle more often as shown by his involvement with Flatline 2. At one time part of Grindtime, Sonny is known by many as the host of the Midwest division, bringing some of today’s best battlers into the scene. However, the Leprechaun Don is also a very talented battler and artist, having released his most previous album roughly a year ago. Ready to step up his battling game, Sonny Bamboo now takes on the former King of the Dot champion, PoRich, in this next release from Flatline 2.
One of the most familiar faces in King of the Dot today, PoRich is one of the most active battlers in all of Canada. First seen in JumpOff’s WRC competition, the Whitby representative paired with Kid Twist to put Canadian battling on the map in that era. Having now transitioned into the written scene, Po has battled more often than most and has taken on some of the heavy hitters in the game, such as Soul Khan, Dizaster, and Loe Pesci. Coming off of the loss of his reign as KOTD Champion, Rich has not slowed his grind, having taken on both Uno Lavoz and now Sonny Bamboo since World Domination 3
Another recent graduate of the Ground Zero league, Yung Casper has proven that he is ready to take his game to the King of the Dot stage. Since moving to the KOTD league, the Oshwawa emcee has already earned matches with some of the best up and coming battlers in the league such as 100 Bulletz, Luciano Crakk, and Lexx Luthor. Known for his aggressive style and energetic performance, Yung Casper is still honing his craft, developing his style further with each battle. Having earned a spot on the Flatline 2 card, this up and comer has a chance to turn some heads in his battle against Tycoon Tax.
An underrated veteran of the league, Tycoon Tax has been around longer than most of the newcomers in King of the Dot. Representing Rexdale, ON, Tax is one of KOTD’s most consistent battlers, making appearances several times a year and always impressing the crowd with his improving abilities. A very versatile battler, Tycoon Tax is able to switch quickly between his comedic style and aggressive, heavy punches to break down his opponents. With a resume that includes Skelly, CL, and Justice, Tax is back in this Flatline 2 battle, ready to reassert his position in the league.
After winning the 2 vs. 2 Grand Prix and a brief hiatus, Toronto emcee Diaz is back in the ring for King of the Dot. Well known in Canadian circles, Diaz is one of few rappers who maintain both a successful music career and a battling reputation. His 2009 debut album, Rhyme for Reason, played well across the global market and allowed Diaz the chance to market himself to a larger audience. Following up, he went on a battling streak that included names such as Justice, D-Lor and Protege, always bettering his skills and flow. Known for attacking his opponents with a fast paced verbal onslaught, Diaz is back to take part in Flatline 2 against American battle emcee A-Class.
One of the more successful battlers of the Grindtime era, A-Class built his reputation from the ground up. A regular on the East Coast, Class was first seen on camera’s back in ’09, testing the waters against lower level opponents. After proving himself, the Baltimore native moved up to facing higher caliber emcee’s including Caustic and Rone, and eventually facing Dizaster in an extremely close match at the West Coast M.O.B. event. Since then, A-Class has been focusing on his music, and took part in the now defunct Follow The Leader competition, where he would have battled Ness Lee for the championship spot. Making his second KOTD appearance, A-Class now squares off against Canadian rapper Diaz, both hoping to continue their winning streaks.
