Osa
-vs-
24/7
The next battle from Blackout 2 is sure to be considered a classic by many. Florida's 24/7 comes back to Toronto to face-off against O.G. Hindu Kush's Osa from Ottawa. Osa, who hasn't been in the ring since his battle with Quake, is out to prove why he is considered one of the top writers in KOTD. While 24/7, who makes his 4th appearance in King Of The Dot, is looking to put on another solid performance in what might be his last battle. Will this battle live up to what it could be?

That was 24's best battle. There is no arguing it. Osa had some sick stuff but it reminds me of Illmac-Bender. Bender had great bars, but Illmac was on another level. 24/7 was on another that night in Toronto.
24/7 won. Clear win. As a whole, 24 was more consistent with no real irrelevant lines(weed lines?). As rounds go, 3-0 maybe 2-1.
This is all 24's stuff.
Round 1 - The flip was nice. The Ness Lee 'Too far beyond, Kumar you're soft...' scheme he spit against Loe, MMMMMMMMMM. The BB/Lucille line I didnt catch until I rewatched it today and then got it fully from the real video. Bender/Patience bar was nice. Right on Q. MMMMMMMM.
Round 2 - If you know OGHK, it was spot on in the start. Alright up until the War&Peace part to the HOT/NOT line. Grey Alien Suit part killed it and had me dying.
Round 3 - Flip was HUGE. Killed what Osa said in the 2nd practically(Dose it remind you of the Cartman bar). The rapping style just showed what 24 is as a battler and why he has that flow and voice. Kind of his closing statement(lawyerlawl) to battle rap and Osa.
To close, losing anyone to retirement in battle rap of 24's caliber always sucks. I have lost count of how many times I have watched him vs Bender and what made me a fan along with the QP and Caustic battles. When doing the vLogs for WD2, hearing it was him coming back to World Domination after a year long break, happiest person that day. Since then, performances against Soul and Daley shows the type of talent he is and will be missed in the game. If the retirement is true. No go cop the Room Full of Empty Bottles LP.

24/7 Rd 1 and OSA got Rd2 and 24/7 Rd3, good battle, both came with it. I don't know what it is but I can't take most of what Osa says serious lol. Still good shit tho.

Dope battle from both.
I know 24/7 dont really care about winning or losing, but he won this battle IMO. Like the other dude said he was just more consistent throughout the rounds. His bars are crrrrrazy, most go over heads but thats besides the point. That line he said somethin like, when it comes to flow he switches to southpaw, cuz his weakest part of his game is write(right) hooks. wow! 24/7 is ill as fuck. I cant remember them all but he had alot of sick bars. I hope he doesnt retire, hes probably my favourite battler but if he does I can see why. In closing was another sick battle from BO2 hope more are on the way.
Also no hating or discredit to Osa he definently did his thing too

I'm not even picking a winner. That shit was a DOPE battle ALL AROUND. Props to both sides and this battle has hella replay value. I hope 24 doesn't stop battling. Right now I feel like he is FINALLY getting the attention he deserves. Maybe people should have been put up on game like i was 2 years ago when i first started watching him.
Osa was so agressive (they both were actually) and it was refreshing to see Osa back on the scene. He had me rolling.
24's Bike Rack Flip was amazing too. Both of these men have incredible delivery.
I vote Overtime lol

24 had it in 3. Osa never impressed me before, but he was great here. Even if though gun bars would seem more believable when being spat by Big Bird.
Amazing battle.
The best part of this video, though, was what 24 said about selling out in the beginning.

I watched it early this morning, tired as hell.
I felt like Osa got Round 1. 24 edged Round 2 (closest round) and 24 BODIED that third round. I'mma watch again right now, see how I feel.
I don't really like Osa that much. His pen game is good, don't get me wrong, I just never really liked him. He had some really good shit, a lot of it wasn't too relevant, though. And having a dozen bars about the kind of weed you smoke in a battle is fucking retarded. On some Arsonal shit.
I'd say this 24's best performance. Bar none. People like to jerk off 24's writtens a lot, but I'd say his rounds were the best laid out I've heard out of him. For me, he usually spends too much time on wordplay schemes that don't have much to do with anything.
I'm not sure which one of these two made the battle promo, but they should've made it judged. The whole tone and atmosphere set up by the pre-battle shit just gets wasted when it doesn't lead anywhere.
Also, after Bender v Sketch and now this battle, Pesci is like the fourth gayest hype man in all of battle rap.

Congrats to 24/7 on winning this battle.
If its his last battle I'm really sorry to hear it. I got a chance to hang out with 24 at his hotel the night before the battle and have come to see him as a 100% real dude. Hes a extremely skilled lyricist and an outstanding rapper. Huge loss if its his last battle.
Get his album:
Room Full of Empty Bottles
Props to Osa also. Dope performance.
Peace,

24/7 easy win osa second round was nice but 24/7 won 2-1 and the second could have been a tie

Maaaaaaan I don't even care who won this battle is a lyrical goldmine.
Does anyone else think that when an emcee isn't funny the whole time, it makes the few jokes they do have that much funnier? It kinda comes outta nowhere and then IT'S SUPER EFFECTIVE. Hah.

osa is on some lyrical god shit right now! He is a monster with his pen! 24 went hard too! best blackout battle so far

I agree with Ziasoon. This battle had me more hype than the Cortez/Hollohan one

Tasha always appreciates the actual lyricists, it's awesome. I've noticed that over time.
Watched the battle twice now. This was one of the most entertaining and high-caliber battles I've seen (so far, Sketch/Rich is BY FAR the weakest of the released Blackout 2 battles) -- definitely the best performances from both emcees. Techincally, both were basically flawless, and the writtens were primo. I thought 24/7 took the first and third (the bike rack flip was BANANAS) and the second was a push. Very tight battle, but I think 24/7 clearly (if not by a great deal) came out ahead. Great jobs by both emcees.

Wow, thanks for noticing themast. I love lyricists over anything. If you don't have intelligent word play then what do you have? Wacka Flocka? Lol i do love Uno Lavoz and Hfk to name 2 comedic battlers however I appreciate the 24/7's and the Ness Lee's and the Soul Khan's alot more.

It's things like that which gave it away, Tasha. I always have an eye for posers, but the things you say always clarify your shit. It's really good.
Being a fan of comics I always see the one girl like, "Hee hee! I'm a nerd because I've seen X-Men and love Iron Man! Tee hee!" Bitch, no. You're not like that. Not even on some, "She knows a lot about battling, for a girl." You have a more sincere and accurately analytical view of battling than most people I've seen.
...except me. Back off.
Jokes...or is it?!

Bahaha you probably are (a little lol) bit more knowledgeable about the battle rap scene than i am. I've been in and out for the past 2 years and now i'm finally fully committed. I just need to research some old battles and older battle rappers to bring me up to game. Luckily, i know what i like and can clearly explain why. I'm blessed to know alot of battle rappers that helped me realize what I like and what to look for. hopefully, they will see that for the SYTYCJ comp haha

Well, depending on how you look at it, it's either lame or cool that I've been into battling since '01...hahaha.
If I had been into it that long and still thought Jin was awesome (Never did, for the record), I would probably hate myself. I think a lot of people, provided you're not easily offended, can find entertainment in battling. I know people who've never been into hip hop that like battling. It's because, really, it has nothing to do with music. It's more akin to a sport than anything else. It's basically professional wrestling, but verbal and unscripted.

Of course battling has the entertainment factor. It is a sport lol. Especially these Blackout Vids with the introduction and the editing makes it look SUPER epic and if i was to just start getting into battling, i would be addicted immediately based on that alone.KOTD tells a story which makes it like a mini webisode that i look forward to every week lol. just like i used to with wrestling (when Triple H was the man yearsssss ago) or a new episode of Dragon Ball Z lol

That shit was Ill!!!! Both 24/7 and OSA brought it, that shit was like Condit/Diaz close. Ultimately I went round 1 24/7 Round 2 OSA by a lot and I thought 24/7 took the the third round. Hope 24/7 decides to come back looks like he has a lot left in the tank.

Osa's round 2 was body bag material

Osa's round 2 was body bag material First little bit, yes. Rest was alright. Bodybag rounds do not have filler weed lines.

Yeah i voted 24. It was a good battle. Sometimes i feel slightly akward listening to Osa kinda african americanizing his accent when he says things like 'little homie' or 'you do you and ill do me'. I just don't buy his gun talk in the slightest. In saying that he is a good battler whith some very good material, as good as some of the top battlers in KOTD. I'd say 24 was a bit more hard hitting and polished. Good luck to him.

7 is a beast man. Room full of empty bottles is dope as shit. Osa?....I know better than anyone this is just rap and all that but the fact that you're a LAWYER and you talk all that gun shit is the biggest contradiction I've seen from any of these dudes. That's like a correctional officer trying to be a drug kingpin. Oh and Lush and Loe are DICK RIDING this motherfucker Osa so hard I'm surprised we didn't see a money shot at the end of this. Fags.

it's great reading other people's insight on the battles because it opens your eyes to things you haven't seen or understood at first watch.
gotta say the bike rack and control by osa was great, but 24's 3rd round rebuttal was just ridiculous. great battle overall.

This was an amazing battle, gave it to 24/7 hit harder with his bars and had flips in 1&3. The bike rack flip shut down all of the momentum osa had built up with it. That whole he's the Canadian Walt whitman - basically John Grisham line was body material IMO. Not to say OSA didn't bring it because he did I just think he shouldn't have had so many bars about weed/guns.

Easily the best battle of the event, and My personal Favourite, Glad to see that 247 is finally getting the props he desreves, OSA was dope aswell
